As the largest full-line retailer across the GCC, Lulu Retail serves more than 600,000 customers daily from 130 nationalities through its large-format hypermarkets, supermarkets, and small-format mini markets.
In addition to its brick-and-mortar formats, Lulu Retail also has a robust online shopping platform, including its own web and mobile applications, as well as strategic partnerships with leading aggregators such as Amazon, HungerStation, Snoonu, and Talabat.

Lulu Hypermarket is a large-format retail store with an average selling area of 9,200 sqm. It sources, stocks, and sells approximately 200,000 SKUs, comprising food, non-food, lifestyle and electronics products. 

Currently, it operates 116 hypermarkets, including 43 in the UAE, 25 in Saudi Arabia, 21 in Oman, 11 in Qatar, 8 in Kuwait, and 8 in Bahrain.

The availability of parking, ease of access to transportation, and urban location allow Lulu to cater to those who live within walking distance of the hypermarket as well as those who live farther away, enabling them to do their weekly shopping and purchase large volumes.

Express Stores

The Lulu Express Stores serve the daily shopping needs of the customers with a focus on groceries and fresh food with each store comprising of an average selling area of approximately 2,400 sqm. 

Lulu Retail operates a total of 102 Express Stores, including 56 in the UAE, 17 in KSA, 9 in Oman, 9 in Qatar, 8 in Kuwait, and 3 in Bahrain.

Mini Markets

The Mini Markets, the smallest store format, allows Lulu to open its stores in locations suitable to cater to “grab-and-go” and convenience customers. The average selling area of a Mini Market is approximately 160 sqm.

Lulu Retail operates a total of 22 Mini Markets, including 4 in the UAE, 14 in KSA, 3 in Qatar, and 1 in Bahrain.

 

E-commerce

Lulu Retail has strong online presence through its own website and the Lulu App, as well as through third-party e-commerce providers, including Amazon in the UAE, HungerStation in KSA, Snoonu in Qatar and Talabat across the GCC. In 2023, the organization had more than 300,000 daily visitors across their website and Lulu App.

It offers approximately 104,000 SKUs via its online channel.

Central Kitchens

RetailCentral Kitchens

The state-of-the-art stand-alone central kitchens of Lulu Retail produce around 600 SKUs per store (all fresh food), including ingredients that are further processed at the in-store central kitchens into finished products.   Fresh food produced in-house accounts for 22% of fresh Private Label SKUs.

Lulu Retail operates 28 central kitchens, including two stand-alone central kitchens in the UAE and Oman and 26 central kitchens located in Hypermarkets. 

The organization operates 20 central kitchens in the UAE, 6 in Qatar, 1 in Oman and 1 in Bahrain.

Fresh food products prepared by the Group’s central kitchens are complemented by in-store production at the Group’s Hypermarkets and Express Stores of fresh food products, including bakery items, butchery, meal solutions and produce.
